Currently we designate paddles, baskets, and vessels to specific positions on the dissolution apparatus during calibration. When paddles or baskets need to be replaced, we calibrate the paddles/baskets, replace them and then calibrate the newly installed paddle and baskets.

When a vessel is broken, the vessel in that specific position is recalibated and the others are not.

My question is...when vessels are scratched and need to be replaced, would you calibrate the vessel(s), replace the vessel(s) and then calibrate the new vessel(s), or would you just calibrate the new vessel(s)???

I am just wondering if this is going TOO far, but I can see it from both sides.

Thank you.

I do not think that you need to calibrate the new vessel.

if you have to replace the vessel for the scratched one then definitely you have to calibrate the new vessel.

If you are replacing a vessel because of a scratch, you should treat it the same way you would treat a broken vessel at your company. There is a lot of debate about the merits of calibrating a vessel to a paddle/basket, but a scatch should be treated just like any broken vessel since it is now useless.
